{The Collapse of the North American Auto Industry}

The Collapse of the North American Auto Industry

On the brink of collapse,
You appear to be the biggest saps.

Morally bankrupt.
Totally corrupt?

Why is it they should get taxpayers' rent money?
It's almost funny.

How much money have they been lent?
That senior management should go get bent.

Thousands to lose their jobs
Forming angry mobs.

And wouldn't you?
If this is what you were going through?

But the pity stops there.

What were the big bosses thinking,
When researching and developing?

Behind the times.
This was amongst their biggest crimes.

Nobody wants what they're making.
But it hasn't stopped them from taking.

Will they get a bailout?
It seems all they need do is pout.

Should they get a bailout?
On that, the jury's still out.

So, what now?
Is that sweat on your brow?

{The Studies Say...}

The Studies Say...

One glass a day,
That's ok.

Eliminate caffeine?
How mean.

Vitamin D.
Go ahead and OD.

30 minutes a day keeps the doctors at bay,
But this cellulite refuses to go away.

Is that a typo,
Or should I consider Lipo?

Pro-age, anti-age,
Wrinkle rage.

Excuse this brief interruption.
Might we suggest injection.

Treadmill.
Big hill.

Cardio?
Please no!

Don't eat.
Don't eat meat.

Anaemic?
How ironic.

Organic and local,
They grow more vocal.

Or is moderation the key?
This age-old advice is free.

{Our Kids' Health}

Our Kids' Health

Monodyglycerides,
Formaldahyde.

Trans fats.
Saturated brats.

Sugar,
Freddy Krueger,
Or Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder?

French fries,
Cream pies.
Parents' cries.

Cafeteria,
Listeria.

Poison
With no reason.
Should these atrocities be considered treason?

Not enough exercise.
A generation's demise.

Video games.
No more toy trains.

Gone is folklore,
Replaced by games of war.

Priorities deranged.
Isn't it strange.

{The Global Economic Crisis}

The Global Economic Crisis

This recession
Led to a flurry of confession,

If only for a bail out.
It caused the world to shout out.

Who was to blame?

No matter,
The result would be the same.
Apart, of course,
From the small issue of shame.

An economy set up to fail?
A cautionary tale?

Lessons learned from the past,
How they fade so fast.

A world on edge,
Standing on the ledge.

Just the thought of pink slips in the mail,
The people begin to wail.

But everything's on sale.
Should we drown our sorrows in retail?

{Int'l Waters}

Int'l Waters

On the water,
The seas totter.

Captain America caught.
But can they be bought?

Somalian or alien?
Just men
Or calculated villain?

A failed escape.
A changing political landscape.

Another one saved,
Brought back brave.

But will the defeated behave?
